April - Locum of the Month

Tuesday 2nd April 2013

Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!

Name: Sarah Piesse
Profession: Occupational Therapist
Where are you from? Wagin, Western Australia
Current Locum position? Acute Elderly Inpatient, Band 6

Personal achievements within the role?
As this is my first UK locum role, I have gained an enormous sense of satisfaction and confidence from navigating my way through a entirely unfamiliar health system.

What do you enjoy about being a locum?
Locum work has allowed me to broaden my clinical experiences as an Occupational Therapist and also capitalise on my love of travelling. I have taken advantage of every opportunity to explore the beautiful county of Dorset and beyond!

Most memorable moment within your career?
Working with a very supportive and skilled therapy team to troubleshoot complex discharge cases over the Winter pressures period.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) My laptop full of music and photos (and although highly implausible - wireless internet would be lovely too!).
2.) Extraordinarily long novel to read.
3.) Basic survival kit with complimentary hammock!

Thanks for taking part!
