Band 5 Occupational Therapist
Salary £21,000 – £27,000 per annum
Full time 35 hours per week

The company provide practical advice, assessment and training for those wishing to drive or increase their mobility through assistive technology, personal mobility vehicles and adapted cars. They currently have an opportunity for an occupational therapist to join their dynamic mobility assessments team.

The role will involve:
-Carrying out mobility assessments for disabled car drivers
-Being responsible for carrying out assessments with the main area of work focusing on people looking to learn to drive a car, or resume driving after acquiring an injury or illness resulting in disability.
-Providing advice to enable people to carry out safe car transfers and offer solutions for correct seating and posture for driving.
-Additional assessment provisions including motorbike assessments, equipment loading, seating and posture, mobility scooter, and manual & powered wheelchair.
-You will also be trained to undertake assessment for Air Travel seating solutions (Try b4u Fly) and children’s wheelchair assessment (Bugzi).

Qualifications, Skill and Requirements:
-Experience with manual handing and risk assessments
-Experience in wheelchair provision desirable
-Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
-Registered with the Health Care Professions Council, HCPC
-Member of BAOT/COT
-Driver with full driving licence (desirable)
-Excellent communication skills
-Team player
-Enthusiasm to develop specialist knowledge and expertise
-Empathetic approach with the ability to remain objective
-Driver with full driving licence (desirable)
