Karen joined the JustOT team a long 10 years ago having previously worked in a bank for 18 years and making the bold decision to change career and has never looked back.

From starting as a Recruitment Consultant back in 2009, Karen grew the Occupational Therapy candidate and client database along with her team and was promoted to OT Business Manager in 2015.

Karen is a very bubbly and motivational character which makes her a great leader of the team. She has a great relationship with the whole team and they all respect her knowledge and experience, so they always feel they can go to her for help and advice.

We thought we would ask Karen a few questions to help you get to know a little more about her…

What do you enjoy most about working for JustOT? I love the company and what it represents, even as the business has grown over the years, the family feel remains constant. The location is great for me and the people are amazing to work with.

What is your career motivation? I am seen as the mother figure to my team, so my motivation is to create a team who enjoy doing their job and push them to the best of their ability.

What would you say is your strong point? I am good at problem solving on the desk, any obstacles that we face I will sit down with the team and take control of the situation and think about it rationally.

What is your most memorable moment within your role? When the team hit our best week ever, it was a major achievement for all of us.

What has been your most challenging experience in your role? Adapting to the change in market has been the biggest challenge, having been in the industry for so long it is forever changing, learning the new processes and strategies to keep up with the changes.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to go on holidays to relax and see new places, it is my down time from the fast-paced world of recruitment.

Candidate feedback…

“Thank you for always representing me so professionally and positively. You have a can do attitude and approach. You always go the extra mile and do what you say you are going to do, which makes you stand out. You never fail to communicate and feedback to me in a timely manner and I always feel very well supported and encouraged when working with you.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much I enjoy working with you and to thank you for all you do for me. I want you to know you are truly one in a million Karen and please never change what you do and how you are, as it works! Thank you...”
