Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!
Name: Jessica Osterloh
Profession: Occupational Therapist
Where are you from? Cape Town, South Africa
Current Locum position?
Band 6 Neuro/Stroke Occupational Therapist
What do you enjoy about your job?
I love being even a small part of someone’s recovery or improvement. My job is full of interesting and special patients, great colleagues and challenging clinical situations. I’m working in a dedicated stroke unit as well as with neuro patients in the wards so get exposed to lots of complex diagnoses, which keeps me on my toes.
Personal achievements within your role?
Fitting into and learning the NHS system which is very different from the way we work at home.
How do you unwind from work?
I like being outdoors when the weather permits- cycling, walking and spending time with my husband and friends. Exploring the UK countryside is a great way to unwind.
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) My kindle loaded with hundreds of books
2.) Matches
3.) Water purifier
