Locum of the Month - July 2015

Wednesday 1st July 2015

Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!

Name: Whitney

Profession: Occupational Therapist

Where are you from? Sydney, Australia

Current Locum position? (Job title, Grade, etc.) Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist in West London

Personal achievements within the role? Being able to adjust to a new health system in a new country so quickly.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? It’s great meeting new people and working in new roles. You learn so much from being a locum, it’s fast paced but your skill set develops so quickly. It also gives you the opportunity to travel, which is great!

Most memorable moment within your career? I have worked mainly with children on the Autism Spectrum so there have been many memorable moments. Watching children reach their goals and seeing how much it means to their parents is so rewarding and that’s exactly why I wanted to become an occupational therapist, you can make such a difference to the lives of others.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Tent
2.) Knife
3.) The Harry Potter series
