Locum of the Month - March 2015

Monday 2nd March 2015

Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!

Name: Niamh

Profession: Occupational Therapist

Where are you from? Donegal, Ireland

Current Locum position? Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Personal achievements within the role? My current role is an incredible place to work as there are constant opportunities to develop professional knowledge. It is extremely rewarding to work in such a multidisciplinary team (speech therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, behavioural specialists) as it means that OT goals can be effectively delivered both in an educational and residential setting.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? Personally, I think the greatest appeal of locum work is the flexibility to work in new environments.

Most memorable moment within your career? One of my greatest ‘feel-good’ moments was receiving a handwritten Thank You card from a student who previously had difficultly writing their alphabet.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?

1.) sun cream
2.) iPhone
3.) fishing-pole!
