Locum of the Month - May 2014

Tuesday 22nd April 2014

Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!

Name: Fiona Scott

Profession: Occupational Therapist

Where are you from? Scottish Borders

Current Locum position? Band 6 In-patient Rehabilitation (stroke/medical)

Personal achievements within the role?
Building great working relationships with the team.

What do you enjoy about being a locum?
There are a lot of perks to being a locum – mostly the flexibility around my availability and the opportunities to work within my preferred field of neuro.

Most memorable moment within your career?
Deciding to take a leap from mental health OT to medical OT. It was a really positive move and has made me a more holistic practitioner. Although I do miss mental health, I am using more of my practical OT skills which I love.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) My mobile phone (to call for rescue obviously)
2.) Lots of sun screen (for my Scottish skin)
3.) Rum (to pass the time until rescue)
