Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy service.

Name: Tim Williams

Profession: Occupational Therapist

Where are you from?
Brisbane, Australia (Which is currently in the midst of massive, severe floods – missing it all to be working in London)

Current Locum position?
Senior Occupational Therapist in London. I provide assessments, assistance and equipment to young disabled through to elderly residents to help them access a range of specialised transport solutions around London. I also have a role in developing service policy and procedures to keep the department in line with best practice.

What do you like about your job?
I enjoy helping people maintain an active life in the community, as well as meeting a range of amazing and unique clients, carers and support workers. I also like it when changes to processes leads to better services for our clients, as well as money being saved by the council.

Personal achievements within your role?
Recently lead consultant on travel reform package saving over £400K for council through more efficient and focused assistance.

How do you unwind from work?
Slamming a squash ball around the court, Hiking in Wales and Scotland or weekend breaks in Europe with my girlfriend.
