We have the pleasure of recognising our wonderful locum Elaine from Perth, Australia as our Locum of the Month this June.
Elaine was put forward by her consultant Chris here at JustOT, as he felt she deserved it after dropping a band and taking a salary cut to pursue her desire to become more specialist within hand therapy.
‘It was an opportunity that she grabbed with both hands and is doing extremely well in. She’s a fantastic outgoing person, and it's very easy to why her patients feel comfortable around her.’ Said Chris.

Personal achievements within the role?
I was delighted to contribute by bringing experiences and recourses from previous positions into my current role to share with colleagues and improve our services for patients. I am also pleased with the level of independence I was able to achieve at an early stage in this role.
What do you enjoy about being a locum?
Being a locum gives me the opportunity to experience different roles and network making great contacts within the Occupational Therapy field. It provides a platform to find the area of work that you are passionate about as well as a flexible working environment so you can also enjoy a great lifestyle while in London.
Most memorable moment within your career?
Helping a person regain use of their hand to hold and play with their kids after a long period of pain and poor movement; and being asked to contribute to a paper for a peer reviewed journal while in London.
