Our Locum of the Month

Thursday 6th July 2017

Since starting her first locum position with us in August 2016, Leila has consistently excelled in all of her roles and we are proud to be recognising her as our Locum of the Month this July.

Leila has received exceptional feedback from her managers at every placement she has been placed in, she deals with every situation with a smile on her face and a positive and professional attitude.

Nominated by our JustOT recruitment consultant Stuart, he could not praise her enough for all her efforts and described her as an absolute pleasure to work with. Stuart added,
‘thanks for being an amazing locum’.

Current Locum position? Band 7 Community Rehab OT

What do you enjoy about being a locum? I love the versatility of my work as a locum, I get to experience different clinical areas helping to continually build upon my skills as a practitioner. I enjoy networking with other therapists and meeting new teams, seeing new ways of working. Locuming provides you with flexibility and choice helping to keep that work life balance.

Most memorable moment within your career? Taking a service development post at a newly opened elderly rehab ward. I was able to educate staff on the importance of rehabilitation, dementia care and the role of an OT. I gained so much pleasure from setting up activity groups such as quizzes, reminiscence groups, gym exercises and lunch club. It was a great opportunity to use my skills and make a positive change to the service provided to this patient group.
