Our Locum of the Month

Thursday 1st December 2016

Each month JustOT like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievements and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service. This month we are pleased to be awarding this to Sophie, a wonderful Occupational Therapist from Australia.

Although Sophie is new to working with JustOT, she has proved herself to be hardworking and dedicated within her role.

Get to know a little more about Sophie…

Current Locum position? Band 6 Occupational Therapist

Personal achievements within the role? Helping a patient transfer from bed to chair working alongside the physio, it doesn’t sound like much but this patient refuses to get out of bed every day, this was the first time in 2 weeks so it was a big deal, staff came from far and wide to see her sitting up in the chair.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? The flexibility to try lots of different roles and gain experience in different areas of Occupational Therapy.

Most memorable moment within your career? When my first PTA patient scored 12/12 for the third day in a row and he was called out of PTA.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Bear Grylls
2.) A knife
3.) My bed
