Our Locum of the Month

Wednesday 1st March 2017

Each month JustOT like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievements and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service. This month we are thrilled to be recognising Stephen for his consistent hard work since joining us in September 2015.

Stephen was nominated by our JustOT Recruitment Consultant Karen, who was overwhelmed by his passion and dedication to making a difference to children’s lives through occupational therapy.

Current Locum position? School OT, Band 6/7

Personal achievements within the role? It’s a new role so no real achievements thus far. However, having worked in numerous special schools before, I hope to help the pupils with whom I work with achieve all of their goals, and in doing so help them learn and access the curriculum as efficiently as possible.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? I thrive on the variety of various roles – from working in mainstream and special schools to clinics with children and young people of all ages who present with different diagnoses and conditions.

Most memorable moment within your career? I have recently started doing tribunal work; representing my young clients’ families in court. To date, I have had all of my recommendations agreed and written into the child’s EHCP.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) My Cocker Spaniel Maddison
2.) Her brother Troy
3.) An endless supply of coffee (can’t function without caffeine!)
