JustOT are recruiting for an experienced HCPC registered Occupational Therapist , to work with our well-respected client based in Wiltshire

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team to -
Undertake occupational therapy assessment with customers. To plan for the provision of support and/ or services with customers in order to assist them meet their outcomes and to live as independently as possible fulfilling their individual potential. To support carers to continue in their role.
To deliver this service in accordance with the statutory responsibilities as set out within Social Care and housing legislation.
To ensure that the primary responsibility of safeguarding vulnerable adults is delivered in accordance with the law and local policy and guidance.
To provide professional supervision and support to Level 2 Occupational Therapists and Customer Coordinators, working within the same locality/ environment.
To uphold standards of practice for Occupational Therapists as determined by the regulatory body, the Health and Care Professions Council and the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the College of Occupational Therapists.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:
*Providing professional informal and formal supervision to Level 2 Occupational Therapists and non-professionally qualified staff, promoting evidence-based practice. To ensure that supervision is timely and recorded and that any practice and other concerns are communicated with senior staff/ line managers
*Undertaking person-centred occupational therapy assessments with customers and planning for the provision of support and/or services to assist customers to meet their outcomes and to live as independently as possible fulfilling their individual potential.
*Ensuring all information/assessments is recorded accurately and timely onto the Social Care records database in accordance with work targets set by the Locality Team Manager and Supervisor.
*Having a well-developed understanding of assessment and the management of risks for individuals and to be able to apply Council policy and support customers to manage risk appropriately using a variety of occupational therapy approaches. To identify where vulnerable adults may be at risk and to act in accordance with the Department's Safeguarding policies and procedures.
*Gathering sufficient information about customers in order to be able to accurately assess their needs against duties under the Care Act and housing legislation.
*Ensuring that local knowledge about universally available services is up to date including what is available within the voluntary and community sector, as well as the Department's commissioned and contracted services and to signpost/advocate for customers accordingly.
*Participating in the Specialist Response rota enabling access to services to work effectively, making decisions about risk, eligibility and priority.
*Ensuring that Council corporate and departmental Policies and Procedures are followed at all times.
*Contributing proactively to the effective working of the team with positive attitude, by sharing knowledge, offering advice and support and by preparedness to be involved in the development of services.
*Ensuring that occupational therapy and moving and handling reviews are carried out in a timely and person-centred way, as required and identified by departmental targets. Ensuring agreed outcomes have been met and evidencing need for continuing support at all times in accordance with eligibility criteria; working with customers and care providers to promote increased independence.
*Assessing for, recommending and facilitating minor and major adaptations in accordance with housing eligibility criteria to enable accessible environments.
*Fully engaging and preparing for own supervision and appraisal through self-evaluation, ensuring that continual professional development is evidenced.
*Being an ambassador for the Council and the department at all times, always representing the Council positively, professionally and appropriately at meetings with customers, external partners and agencies.
*Attend Civil Emergencies when a Rest Centre is set up.

The Pay for this role is £31.00 per hour.

Hours & Days to be Worked: 37 hours per week
Working arrangements : Hybrid / community
