JustOT are looking to recruit a band 6 Rehab Occupational Therapist for a locum position with our client in West Yorkshire.

The pay for this position is £20-£23 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.

Successful candidates must hold a degree in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.

JOB PURPOSE
* Contribute to the provision of a multi-disciplinary bed based rehabilitation service for adults
* Contribute to the development of the Service and team policies
* Enable clients to achieve their maximum potential and reduce their risk of entering secondary care or long term care, through improving their physical and mental health status and coping capacity and equipment provision. Provide an expert discharge planning service for these clients
* Provide advanced therapeutic assessment and treatment for patients within the bed based units
* Educate and train clinical care assistants, other health professionals, carers and students in the therapeutic management, rehabilitation and discharge planning of clients within the bed based units
* Supervise and mentor clinical care assistants and/or therapy students on clinical placements
* Work as an autonomous practitioner with clients in the bed based units or in their own homes or other appropriate setting
* Participate in audit and research, disseminating findings and recommending changes to practice
* Ensure self and clinical care assistants are working in close collaboration with carers and health and social care agencies
* Provide leadership, support and advice to more junior colleagues in the assessment and management of patients within the bed based units

Job Summary

* Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients with diverse presentations, rehabilitation and appropriate discharge planning needs.
* Educate and train Clinical Care Assistants, other allied health professionals, carers and allied health professional students in the occupational therapy management of clients
* Supervise and mentor Clinical Care Assistants and/or Students on Clinical placements
* Work as an autonomous practitioner with complex patients in a variety of bed based and home environments
* Lead or participate in audit and research within the service, disseminating findings and recommending changes to practice
* Ensure self and Clinical Care Assistants are working in close collaboration with carers and health and social care agencies
